Why is the SolusGuard App asking me for Permissions? And what do they mean?

Modified on Tue, 8 Nov, 2022 at 11:02 AM

In order for the SolusGuard services to function properly, you must allow certain permissions. You will be prompted to allow certain things when you first login, and will be prompted to allow less vital permission the first time you use a feature that requires that permission.

Allow Solusguard to make and manage phone calls.

- As a user of the services you must allow this so that a back up call can be placed during a panic alert.

- As an emergency contact you must allow this so that you can initiate a call to a user during an alert of any kind.

Allow Location access.

- As a user you must choose "Always" or "Allow All the Time". You must choose this so that your location can be sent to your emergency contacts from any state that your phone is in. The highest level of permission is required in order to send a location when your phone is locked, which is the most likely scenario during a real emergency.

- As a contact, you can allow this if you want to send your own location in the group chat.

Allow the use of Bluetooth.

- As a use you must allow SolusGuard to use Bluetooth so that it can connect to both the SolusGuard Wearable Panic Button and the Solara Flare Satellite Extender.

Allow SolusGuard to access your phone contacts.

- If you'd like to, you can allow SolusGuard to access your phone contact list to make adding emergency contacts easier.
